TMS320VC5416: Need CCS Version 2 (IDE 2.20.0) for working on old project files or need assist to import the same on the latest IDE.

Hi All,

We have very old source code project files which was developed on CCS Version 2 (IDE 2.20.0) and looking for the installation files of the same IDE since the importing of those source code has been failed on the latest CCS IDE. Could you please share the same to open and use the old project files. (Additional information: Those source code project files contain '.prj' , '.paf' , '.pjt' files). Not sure if those project files can be imported to latest IDE.

Regards,

Ameen

  • Hi Ameen,

The oldest CCS version that TI still support is CCS 3.3.83.20. You can find it from CCSTUDIO IDE, configuration, compiler or debugger | TI.com

There is a possibility that the CCS 3.3 will be able to import the project file from CCS 2.2.

    Best regards,

    Ming

  • Hi Ming,

I have tried to install 3.3 version and unable to install on my system. The pop-up message while installing was about 'drk' error .My system is windows 10. The below pop-up message is coming even after installation.

even for v5.5 is as below:

I believe that up to CCS V5.5 is supporting this DSP. However, After installation of v5.5, CCS is not recognizing the source code project files as it might be because of the '.prj' file which would be not accessible to CCS v5.5. I am not sure on what can be done next.

It would be great if you can share the installation files of the CCS Version 2 (IDE 2.20.0). Again, not sure how about installation!

    Looking forward to the assistance.

    Regards,

    Ameen

  • Hi Ameenu,

Yes. The CCS 2.2 is more than 20 year old. The Windows version is a problem.

As I mentioned in the previous post, the oldest CCS version TI still support is 3.3. We do not have CCS 2.2 anymore. Plus even we have one, it may not be able to be installed in Windows10/11

Your best option now is to create a new CCS project based on the CCS 2.2 project files (you can use a text editor to open the prj' , '.paf' , '.pjt' files)

    Best regards,

    Ming
