TDA4AH-Q1: start weston service failed

when I flash the follow version, and the weston could not work, please help to check. 

I download the bin ti-processor-sdk-linux-adas-j784s4-evm-09_02_00_05-Linux-x86-Install.bin

I follow the tutorial create-sd-card-with-custom-images to build the SD card.

  • Hello,

    It seems during your initial boot, there was no GPU drivers loaded. Later, you ran pvr_memory_test successfully, so perhaps weston was waiting on those drivers. Did you try restarting weston?

    systemctl restart weston

    You could also run it from the command line so we can see the logs on the console, and please share those.

    Weston should start up automatically if the SD card was correctly created and you have a display connected. Do you have a valid display connected to the EVM? Can you send the output of the following command:

    modetest -M tidss

    I run this test and it print no such file or directory. I tried DP0 and DP1, and didn't work, which connected a DELL monitor that resolution is 1920x1080.

    And what is 'valid display'? Could you supply valid display list?

    I found a case that your answered faq-tda4vm-sample-wayland-application-of-opengl-to-run-on-ti-board.

    So I flash this version image ti-processor-sdk-linux-j784s4-evm-08_06_01_02-Linux-x86-Install.bin, and weston could work well with this version, which display a develop board as background.

    I think that my DELL monitor is ok, please check what's the 'bug' with ti-processor-sdk-linux-adas-j784s4-evm-09_02_00_05-Linux-x86-Install.bin.

    This version ti-processor-sdk-linux-adas-j784s4-evm-09_01_00_06-Linux-x86-Install.bin also could work well , which display a gray background.

    Please help check what's the 'bug' with ti-processor-sdk-linux-adas-j784s4-evm-09_02_00_05-Linux-x86-Install.bin.

    It seems the DisplayPort is not coming up, I see both in your logs as well as mine the issue with the display port bridge:

    [ 18.361947] cdns-mhdp8546 a000000.dp-bridge: no PHY configured

    Let me check with our display team on this issue. It does not seem related to weston, but rather the display port bridge coming up.
