OMAP3530: what does "High speed grade" mean ?

Part Number: OMAP3530

Tool/software:

Hello,

In the datasheet of OMAP3530 (SPRS507F), 6 OPPs are defined (Table 4-15 an 4-16)

For OPP6 it is noticed :

OPP6 frequency range is only supported on high-speed grade OMAP3530/25 devices

what does "high speed grade" refer to ? A particular référence of the OMAP3530 with an special extension.

For instance I use an OMAP3530ECUSA . Is it a "high speed grade". What would be the reference for "high speed grade"

Thanks for your help.

  • The datasheet you are quoting is an older revision. I recommend you download the latest (https://www.ti.com/lit/gpn/omap3530).

    In the latest datasheet, section 7.2.1 Device and Development-Support Tool Nomenclature, you will see that there are two speed grades

    blank = 600 MHz Cortex - A8
        72 = 720 MHz Cortex - A8

    The 720MHz speed grade is considered the 'high-speed' grade as it runs at 720MHz, which is OPP6 in the table you quoted.

    Your part number is the 600MHz variant, which does not support OPP6.
