I'm Porselvan, We are planning to pusrchase the SK-TDA4VM kit and to evaluate the entire TDA4VM SoC processor.

Our requirements are to have linux in arm A72 core & FreeRTOS/Sys-bios on R5F, C66x, C71x cores.

For the above requirements which SDK's to be used to bringup the base image and start with the development?
We see that their is linux sdk for SK-TDA4VM - https://www.ti.com/tool/download/PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-SK-TDA4VM/09.02.00.05

Does this SDK alone is enough to work woth our requirements - Linux plus RTOS or do we need to have setup RTOS SDK as well?

Can you point us out what are the steps to be done for generating RTOS image (Free RTOS) for R%F, C66, C71 cores and how to flash them?

Hi,

To modify the remote core firmware, you can request the firmware builders as we only support the Linux SDK for the SK platform.

Thanks for the feedback.

I'm not asking for modifying the firmware, I wanted to know how to flash the free rtos on c66, r5f and c71 cores and in A72 on Linux on SK-TDA4VM kit.

1. Does the existing linux sdk alone is enough to generate images for all the cores?

2. Is there any detailed steps somewhere captured? or even to build images we need to get some special acccess (firmware builder)?

3. or SK-TDA4VM is not supported for this activity then different TDA4 EVM board to be used? if so can you point me towards that?

The SK-TDA4VM kit is targeted for the EdgeAI SDK that is provided here.

This board is not recommended for development on the R5F, C66x, and C7x cores.

Depending on your project, we suggest evaluating your work using the https://www.ti.com/tool/J721EXSOMXEVM + https://www.ti.com/tool/J721EXCPXEVM boards.

Great, thanks for the info.

before closing this thread I want to know one last info which points to my first question, with the above boards I understand that I can use Linux for Arm and Free RTOS for other cores but could you point me the document where how I can flash and start developing for Free RTOS .. as I’m seeing lot of docs related to Linux but for other cores I’m not seeing much info like how to generate images for these cores, how to create sample applications and deploy and test, checking IPC between these cores etc
