SK-AM62-LP: AM62A7 boot from NOR

Part Number: SK-AM62-LP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM62A7, SK-AM62B-P1

Tool/software:

We are working with the SK-AM62-LP evaluation kit.

For our custom board, which is based on the evaluation kit with AM62A7, we need to use NOR flash instead of NAND.

The NOR flash is Micron MT35XU01GBBA1G12-0AUT and it is fully pin-compatible with NAND in the evaluation kit.

Eventually, we have to be able to boot our Free RTOS and the Linux from this NOR flash.

I would like to ask you a few questions regarding the topic:

  1. Could you confirm there is no HW limitation we should be aware of to use this NOR as boot flash with this CPU?
  2. In case there is no such limitation, could you pick up any similar TI evaluation board that implements boot from some NOR flash,  so we could download its SDK and take its NOR driver as a reference and port/adapt it for our board?
  3. If there is no such a similar SDK and NOR driver to take as a reference, then which way would you propose us to follow in our implementation?
