Tool/software:
Hi TI,
I was looking for some statement about EtherCAT G support for AM64 series on E2E forum. Unfortunately, I found contradicting answers:
- https://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/arm-based-microcontrollers-group/arm-based-microcontrollers/f/arm-based-microcontrollers-forum/1353595/am2434-can-ethercat-salve-work-in-giga-mode (from (24.04.2024)
- https://e2e.ti.com/support/processors-group/processors/f/processors-forum/1038180/am6442-when-will-ethercat-g-gigabit-be-supported-on-sitara-processors (from 21.09.2021)
- https://e2e.ti.com/support/processors-group/processors/f/processors-forum/1235065/am6442-ethercat-g (from 07.06.2023)
Can you confirm, that it is planned to support EtherCAT G for AM64 series? If yes, when is it planned to be released?
According to this application note (https://download.beckhoff.com/download/Document/io/ethercat-development-products/an_phy_selection_guidev3.0.pdf, page 12) the recommended interface for EtherCAT G is RGMII. According to this (e2e.ti.com/.../processor-sdk-am64x-rgmii-support-for-ethercat) thread, you are not planning to maintain an additional PRU firmware with RGMII support.
Is this information also outdated?
Best regards,
Felix
