How can we use AM64x/ AM243x - MCU+SDK to enable PCIE based Precision Time Measurement (PTM) ?

Hi,

As per MCU+SDK 9.2.1 release, we do not have any example to showcase PCIE-PTM capability. So officially, it is not supported.

Just to enable you while we add the support in mainline SDK, you can refer below steps:

Assumption: You are working on AM243x/AM64x -HSFS- evm

Setup:

AM64x-HSFS-EVM (RTOS) (RC) <=> AM243x-HSFS-EVM (RTOS) (EP)
PCIE_FLEX_NOCLK: Adex Electronics PCIe flexible extender cable PE-FLEX1-G2.MMCX-12-TI1

EVM working as PCIE-EP (End Point)

Note:

To achieve better synchronization between RC and EP, you should modify your setup as mentioned in "section 4 Test Setup" in App Note

EP side only:

Perform hardware modification on TMDS243EVM:
- Remove resistors R661, R662, R667 and R668
- Populate 0Ω resistors R665, R666, R679 and R680
- Remove Jumper J34 on TMDS243EVM,
Use the modified Cable PCIE_FLEX_CLK.
