AM3356: Ethernet Networking Control Model (USBECM) Class Support

Part Number: AM3356
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM1808

Tool/software:

Hi team,

I would like to know if Ethernet Networking Control Model (USBECM) class is supported on this processor. Do you have more complete version of the library? What would you recommend?

Thanks

  • Hi,

This is a question that TI will not be able to fully answer. From what I am able to research support for the USBECM would come from enabling a kernel configuration option. I would recommended looking more into CONFIG_USB_F_ECM, this may or may not be what you are looking for. Also note this module is above the SOC drivers that TI supports.

Please note again this is a recommendation on further investigation you can do and is not a confirmation that the feature you are looking for is supported.

    Best Regards,

    Schuyler

  • Hi Shuyler,

I think you are talking about Linux Kernel configuration. I'm sorry for the confusion. I'm not using Linux Kernel and it's an RTOS. Also, it's not an SOC and we have AM3356x microprocessor board. I have a USB driver with TI copy rights and it's a part of AM1808 StarterWare USB Library reused from stellaris USB library.

  • Hi,

Thank you for the clarification on the OS you plan to use. TI will not have this library you are looking for with the OS selected for the application. Unfortunately I do not have a 3rd recommendation that I could provide either that might able to provide this support.

    Best Regards,

    Schuyler

  • Hi,

Thank you for your response. I would like to know if you support serial communication USB driver library.
