AM5728: IVA in LINUX SDK 9.02 for AM5728 based custom board

Hi,

We have a custom board based on am5728 SOC running Linux SDK 6.03.

We are using IVA-HD codecs using gstreamer plugins ducatih264encode and ducatih264decode on it. We are planning to upgrade the SDK to 9.02 which is the latest SDK supported by TI.

However in 9.02 SDK TI claims to have descoped IVA. We are able to see that gstreamer is available in sources of 9.02 Linux SDK.

Can someone from TI team tell exactly what software components have been removed which are responsible for supporting IVA?

Hello Vishal,

The main components that were descoped were the libdce to support these g-streamer plugins as well as IPUMM support for IVA-HD.

Hi,

We need to use ducatiencode and ducatidecode plugins in SDK 9.02. Can libdce support be enabled in 9.02 Linux SDK ? Is libdce removed in 8.02 SDK as well ?

Vishal,

Yes, this has been de-scoped in 8.2 as well and there is no plans to enable these features again. This effort would have to be taken up by customers.
