BEAGLEY-AI: Processor SDK Linux AM67A and TI Yocto Project compatibility with Beagle Board Y AI

Part Number: BEAGLEY-AI

Tool/software:

Hi,

I had a few questions about the BB Y AI platform -

  1. Is the 'PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-AM67A  Processor SDK Linux for AM67A' image provided by TI for AM67A compatible with Beagle Y AI board.
  2. Does TI provide a Yocto Project with TI Edge AI that's compatible with the Beagle Y AI board? Or is the Debian image provided by Beagle Board the only option for now?
  3. Does TF Lite runtime provided for object detection in the debian image use AI accelerators (DSP MMA) for inference?
  4. Does the board support ONNX runtime as well?

Thanks.

  • Hi Suraj,

Is the 'PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-AM67A  Processor SDK Linux for AM67A' image provided by TI for AM67A compatible with Beagle Y AI board.

The AM67A image that TI provides is not compatible with the BeagleY AI board. The device tree it uses is for the J722S-EVM. There are differences between peripherals and the DDR size between the two board.

Does TI provide a Yocto Project with TI Edge AI that's compatible with the Beagle Y AI board? Or is the Debian image provided by Beagle Board the only option for now?

TI does not provide an image that is compatible with the BeagleY AI.

Does TF Lite runtime provided for object detection in the debian image use AI accelerators (DSP MMA) for inference?

The debian image does not leverage the AI accelerators currently.

Does the board support ONNX runtime as well?

Yes, but not with the AI accelerators (the same answer as the one to your 3rd question).

    Best,
    Jared

  • Thanks Jared for the response. Can I expect a Yocto build from TI for this board anytime in the near future? Is that in the pipeline?

    Suraj

  • Hi Suraj,

I do not see a Yocto build for this board being released in the near future. Perhaps someday, it is on the roadmap, but it's not something that's being prioritized.

    Best,
    Jared
