SK-AM69: Configuring USB 3.0 Ports as Slave

Part Number: SK-AM69
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB321

Tool/software:

Is it possible to configure any of the SK-AM69 USB ports to be USB slave? If not, can this be achieved by configuring the USB-C port - TUSB321 in UFP or DRP mode? Otherwise, are there any expansion boards available that could make this possible?

  • Hi Rohit,

I don't think it's possible to configure any of the SK-AM69 USB ports as slaves. The SK-AM69 user guide states that the 2 type A ports act operate as hosts, and the type C port can function as a DFP.

The chip itself supports acting as a slave, but the USB hub (tusb8041) doesn't appear to support switching the function of the upstream and downstream ports.

The EVM-J784S4 user guide states that the type C port can function as DFP, UFP, or DRP (see sections 2.3.3 and 2.2.1).

    Best,
    Jared
