TDA4VM-Q1: Connections for Unused Pins --- V19

Part Number: TDA4VM-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi Expert,

In old version datasheet (SPRSP36J – FEBRUARY 2019 – REVISED AUGUST 2021) there is no specific requirement for V19 if this is unused, so customer let it NC. but in the latest datasheet (SPRSP36K – SEPTEMBER 2021 – REVISED APRIL 2024), V19 need pull down, pls help double confirm for this change, I have let customer follow the latest datasheet, I still want to get your double confirm.

  • Hi Biao,

Yes, this datasheet change is intended for VMON_IR_VEXT (V19) and VMON_ER_VSYS (M26) pins.

  • Hi Biao,

Just to clarify for VMON_IR (V19).  Our general recommendation is to connect to a valid external power supply, or to pull-down to ground.  But, if that pin is NC we don't expect any reliability/functional issue (since the internal pull resistor is connected to ground).

Depending on the voltage level that the pin happens to float to ... if the OV/UV function is accidentally enabled in software you may see spurious interrupts.   If the OV/UV isn't enabled in software, we do not expect any incorrect behavior.

(That is different for VMON_ER ... where the node would be truly floating if left as NC.  That pin should be pulled to ground due to reliability concerns)

    Regards,

    Kyle
