looking for a processor with 4 Nos of Ethernet Ports which can work with 10/100/1000 Mbps
On checking the Sitara Series, it was shown to have Ethernet Expansion option through PRU ICSSG.
How the PRU Core handles the Ethernet Conversion.
If i use the PRU0 RGMII1 and PRU0 RGMII2, whether this will be sharing the same MAC since it is under PRU0?
Whether there will be any dynamic MAC assignment done by the Firmware on each bootup, or whether we can set a static MAC which will be unique to each port? where the MAC will be assigned, from the PRU code or from the linux?
also, what processor will you suggest if my primary requirement is,
1. 2 Nos of 10/100/1000 and 2 Nos of 10/100
2. 4 Nos of 10/100/1000
also, whether the SerDes lane in AM64x, whether it can be used as QSGMII?
Which one do you suggest for a stable platform for 4 Nos of Ethernet?
1. Combination of CPSW + SerDes
2. Combination of CPSW + PRU_ICSSG
If the SerDes can be used for QSGMII, how the MAC will be allocated from the Processor?
