Device Selection:Need to play a movie from a USB Drive/Flash

Hi,

I want to select a processor device which can play a movie from USB pen drive/Flash device(avi/mp4) to S-Video/Composite (RCA) interface.

note: Device is only used for this purpose. So can run the software Video/Audio Codec.

    Hi,

    Those are container formats. What specific audio/video codec would you like to have? In particular, D1 decode should be supported on most-to-all devices, but not all support all the codecs. Do list down the audio formats as well.

    Hi,

    Consider if i have selected AM1808, to this deivce if i have used a ADV7343 VIDEO ENC and THS7314 AMP --> S-video connector
    , Can i connect the TV through to the S-video Interface. and say USB storage device(which has a video file which is a AVI/mp4 format)  is connected to the USB 2.0 Port.

    Can i play the video file using a software codec and see the picture on the TV?

    Manjunathan,

    Are you thinking about running sw like FFMPEG or Gsteamer? Again, AVI/MP4 are container formats, do you have information on the exact audio/video codec that you need (i.e., MPEG4, H.264, MPEG2,...)?

    Hi,

     Yes Like FFMPEG/GStreamer/porting vlcplayer to the device ,as per the codec MPEG2/MPEG4 is the current requirement.

    In furture to include all the format.

     

    Is that possible to play the movie ?

    And one morething, can we use all these codec(using the FFMPEG/Gstreamer) in our product for free of cost
