PROCESSOR-SDK-AM57X: CCS12.8.1 error with IPC 3.52.00.00 of SDK 9.03.00.00

Development for AM57 is usually done outside of CCS, but I will look into this issue internally and report back.

Have you tried going to Window->Preferences->Code Composer Studio and clicking add from the discovery path directly?

I don't understand... we have been developing for AM5718 since CCS10, what do you mean by "outside of CCS"? Theia as CCS20?

The "add" button is to add paths in which CCS tries to discover new products, I guess you refer to "install" button, and yes, same result. Even if I add the IPC 3.52.00 path with the "add" button, the same product is discovered.

CCS is tool that can be used for development but internally we mostly use the GNU Autotools.. CCS mostly for debug purposes. Its just a preference I suppose. Nonetheless, I have contacted the CCS team for comment. One question, what Ubuntu version are you using?

We use CCS on Windows10 and 11. Sorry that I didn't mention it before.

Sorry Ro,

I believe the newer SDKs were not validated on Windows. There was no SDK windows installer included in the release. I can try to double check if this is the issue. I appreciate your patience.

Ah! I was only looking at the Linux download.. my mistake.

I do not see the error you see. there but I was able to replicate your issue in the Windows case.

Event if it's not exactly the same behaviour on Windows and Linux, both point to a mismatch between "real" and "stated" versions and the invalid metadata commented by Ki that seems to be preventing installation on Windows environments. 

Please keep us posted if the SDK 9.03 package will be updated, if there will be a new version or if you come up with a workaround that can be applied.

That is one of the issues I noticed with the metadata.

See the error in RO's screenshot:

If you look in .\processor_sdk_rtos_am57xx_09_03_00_00\ipc_3_52_00_00\eclipse\features\com.ti.rtsc.IPC.product_3.52.00.00\feature.xml, you can see it has the wrong version number. The feature.xml files were probably never updated.

Looks like we might have figured out the needed steps to update the metadata that enables CCS to correctly load IPC as a tool.

A fix is tentatively planned for march and will definitely be addressing this in the next release at the end of the year.
