LP-AM263: Assistance with DRV8316REVM Connection to Sitara AM263

Dear TI Team,

I am currently working on connecting the DRV8316REVM to the Sitara AM263, and I am encountering some unfamiliar connection options.

In the Universal Motor Lab for the AM263, within the SysConfig file under the ADC section, I noticed that CONFIG_ADC2 is mapped to two different pins. Could you please clarify how this is possible?

Apart from the following required connections, is there anything else that needs to be considered?

  • PWM (3/6 pins?)
  • SPI (3 pins)
  • nSLEEP (1 pin)
  • DRVOFF (1 pin)
  • CSA OUT (5 pins?)
  • nFAULT (1 pin)

Furthermore, I came across the following definition in the Universal Motor Lab:

BOARD_BSXL8316RT_REVA = 5, //!< the board is BOOSTXL_8316RT, OK, in MCSDK

Could you explain what BOOSTXL refers to in this context? Also, is there a predefined configuration available to connect the DRV8316?

Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Shahar,

    Yes, we're working with two channels of ADC 2. We can utilize all the channels from a single ADC as long as we don't need to sample them all simultaneously. In this case, we used one channel for measuring voltage and the other for measuring current. Since we sample the three-phase voltage at one time and the three-phase current at a different time, there's no overlap happening here.

    Also, you can skip over "BOARD_BSXL8316RT_REVA" in the code since it's planned for future support in the AM263 universal motor control.
