AM6442: AM6442 Green Hills Integrity Lack of Support for PRU ICSSG Ethernet Ports

Part Number: AM6442

Tool/software:

Greetings,

We have developed a custom hardware board, based heavily on the AM64x EVM board.  One difference is that we don’t use the on-chip ethernet switch for ethernet, however we utilize the 4 PRU ICSSG ethernet ports.  All 4 ports will be in use, running at 100Mb rate.

Typically, we use Green Hills Integrity OS in our products.  They have returned with an issue concerning the support for these 4 ports.

We currently have all 4 ports operational in TI’s Linux, and the Device Tree sources are readily available for GHS.

We are wondering if anyone has experience with this circumstance.  Can GHS utilize the ethernet PRU firmware code?  Is there a license issue that prohibits them from utilizing it?

While I understand that this is not a technical issue, we are looking for some suggestions with anyone that has dealt with Integrity issues running on the AM64x processor.  Is there any suggestions and/or help available to Green Hills to help resolve the issue?

I hope this makes sense.  If you have any, please let me know.

Many thanks,

Daryl

  • Hello Daryl

The support team managing these forum does not have any experience with GHS.

I will ping the ICSSG firmware team if they have some suggestions to offer on this.

TI does work closely with several OS vendors GHS,  Blackberry (QNX) , WINDRVR (Vxworks) etc to help them enable their end customers, but support for their SDKs will predominantly need to come from them directly.

    Regards
