SK-AM62A-LP: AM62A7: Does MCU-R5 FreeRTOS compiled FW (compiled on mcu_plus_sdk_am62ax_09_02_00_38) run successfully on TI PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-RT-AM62A (Version: 10.00.00.08)?

Hello Team,

Our current MCU-R5 FreeRTOS FW (which is compiled using mcu_plus_sdk_am62ax_09_02_00_38) is working on TI PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-RT-AM62A (Version: 09.01.00.02) with our custom board (RT-Linux).

Now we are planning to port the changes of TI PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-RT-AM62A (Version: 09.01.00.02) into Version: 10.00.00.08 (TI PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-RT-AM62A). In that case, does our existing MCU-R5 FreeRTOS FW (which is compiled using mcu_plus_sdk_am62ax_09_02_00_38) work on the latest PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-RT-AM62A (10.00.00.08) or not?

If not in that case; Do we need to port the MCU-R5 FreeRTOS FW on latest MCU-SDK Version ?

Does there any dependency b/w PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-RT-AM62A version and MCU-R5 freeRTOS FW (with its MCU-SDK version) ?

    Hello Nisarg,

    This is a tricky question.

    My suggestion is that please integrate the latest version of MCU+SDK with the latest  Linux SDK  version.

    Because, here, mainly in my view, there are three challenges, one with SYSFW, another one is Device tree and resources management.

    If any resources are changed in the MCU+SDK and those are not mapped to the newer version of Linux, you may end up with problems. 

    The older SYSFW may also create an issue or not with the latest Linux SDK.

    We (TI) do testing with the latest Linux and MCU+SDK versions , if any user faces the problem we do support in this way.

    Conclusion is that  please go the latest Linux with the latest MCU+SDK version.
