Dear TI expert：

The SerDes4 has four lanes that can be used for DisplayPort (DP) or USB 3.0.

In my design, I will use an eDP controller to generate a 4K menu. However, instead of using the physical port of DP, the data will be transmitted via PCIe to another FPGA device for display.

Meanwhile, can I still use USB 3.0 normally when I am using the eDP controller?

Sai,

The 4 lanes can be used for either DP or USB but not both at the same time.

Perhaps I didnot describe my question clearly. we didnot actully use DP's physical lanes,

If the 4VH generates a 4K OSD menu, our software need to reserve this eDP controller interface. We will send the 4K menu use other serdes PCIE to other FPGA device. But the software seems related to the GPU and the eDP hardware controllers .

Meanwhile can I use the actuall USB port device ?

Yes, if the SERDES pins are not assigned to eDP interface, then USB SS can be used on the lanes.
