Currently on the AM62x TI EVM, there is an OSPI flash part integrated.
The OSPI Flash is S28HS512T.
If we want to interface QSPI Flash part(from Software point of view), we need to perform certain steps.
This FAQ is going to cover those steps in detail.

In the schematics, it is mentioned how QSPI flash can be interfaced instead of the OSPI flash which already exists on the TI EVM.
A snippet of what I am referring to is as follows:
NOTE: If on a custom board, I would suggest going ahead and creating an E2E for a schematic review.
The changes which needs to be made from Software point of view, would be just taking care of the proper configurations.
For example, you can pick any application from the examples directory, for let's say the core R5F0_0, and simply add the correct QSPI configuration and build the application.
To demonstrate the same, please have a look at the following steps:
First Step:
When using a NOR flash, please get the Flash Configurations log from the following guide: https://software-dl.ti.com/mcu-plus-sdk/esd/AM62X/11_00_00_16/exports/docs/api_guide_am62x/CUSTOM_FLASH_SUPPORT_GUIDE.html
Go to SysConfig of any application, head over to OSPI and FLASH section.
Once there, perform the following steps.
Second Step:
Please make sure to configure the following settings and uncheck the lines which need not be used.
NOTE: The settings which you see for clock frequency and clock divider can be modified as per the following supported modes mentioned below the snippet.
Third Step:
In the second step, it could be that the flash part does not support high frequency so it is always a good practise to check the flash datasheet and crosscheck as to what is the maximum clock frequency supported by the QSPI Flash.

Fourth Step:
Go to the FLASH section(in SysConfig) and configure as following:
Note, the other configurations tabs like: Basic Flash Configurations, Erase Configurations, Protocol Enable Configurations and Advanced Flash Configurations needs to be configured based on the results of the First Step.
Fifth Step:
Once the flash is configured correctly inside SysConfig and the application is build, it is recommended to run OSPI FLASH IO application to check the basic erase, writes and read operations of the flash.
