[FAQ] TDA4VM: Is CCS 20.x or Theia supported on TDAx devices?

I am trying to use CCS 20.1 or Theia with my TDA4VM device, I am having trouble following the SDK documentation and connecting to the target cores of the device. Is CCS 20.x or Theia supported on TDAx devices?

    Unfortunately, CCS 20.x or Theia is not currently supported for any TDA4x devices. As of now, migration to CCS 20.x is not planned and has not been tested internally by the team which includes both SDK 11.0, 10.1 and older.

    The current SDK 10.1 uses various versions of CCS for TDA4x devices, however, you should not have issues CCS versions from 12.4 to 12.8.x. You can check the official CCS version supported and validated for each SDK for any device within the RTOS Documentation > CCS Setup.

    The future SDK 11.0 which is currently planned for mid-May 2025 will also not support CCS 20.x.

    Final note: TI-RTOS has been deprecated for CCS 20.x and will not be supported. This includes AM57x and TDA2 devices that use a SYSBIOS based RTOS implementation.
