DM385: New product replacement and Firmware between DM388 and DM385

Hi team,

1. My customer will replace the IC (DM388AAAR11) used in the internal board of the equipment. They are considering whether the DM385AAAR11F can be used. * They are aware that each IC has already been discontinued.
Do we have any new product replacement for DM388 or DM385 ?

2. Regarding the firmware that is written to the DM388 currently being used in the current circuit pack,
If customer is not using the noise filter or face detect features which is the difference between DM388 and DM385,
is it possible to confirm whether the current firmware can work on the DM385 or not ?

Hi,

According to the datasheet, please find the difference between 388 and 385. As you can see the 385 does not have a Noise Filtering Engine. If they are currently using this feature in the 388 then they cannot use 385 as a replacement. If they do not use this feature then I think they should be able to use 385. The DM385AAAR11F has also the Face Detection and PICe enabled while DM388AAAR11does not have these features. Refer to the Device Nomenclature.
