Hi All,
Is there any way to output 4K 60p with DSI 4 L TX with AM68A or AM69A somehow?
DS says up to 2.5k, but I will confirm just in case.

Ito

Hi Ito,
My recommendation is refer to device specs to figure out if it can support this resolution (Most likely it can, but still please refer to TRM/specs for the actual numbers).

Brijesh
Hello Ito-san,
This seems to mistake in this section of TRM.

Brijesh
Hi Brijesh,
Up to 2.5k is incorrect, and
it is correct to understand that 4k 60p output is possible.
Please let me know if there are any documents or E2E that state that 4k 60p output is possible.
I was unable to find any.

Ito
Hi Ito-san,
4K is line width, but what about the output height?
Yes, the total resolution for 60fps output is limited to 4MP, but if the output width is 4K, then height would be limited to 1K.

Brijesh
Hi Brijesh,
I understand that DSI4L does not support 4K/60p.
DSI4L has two ports,
but are these for stereoscopic use?
Is it possible to split a 4K/60p video into left and right channels and output 1920x2160/60p (4.1MPix) from both ports?
Or, is it possible to split a 4K/60p video into odd/even lines and output 3840x1080/60p from both ports?
Best Regards,
Ito
Hello Ito-san,
Well, splitting 4K video into left and right channels or even odd & even lines need to be done in the application. DSI cannot do this..

Brijesh
Hi Brijesh,
If implemented on the application side, does this mean that 4K 60fps video (from cameras, video decoders,
or video generated by Qt, etc.) can be output without frame drops using the DSI2 port?
Best Regards,
Ito
Hello Ito-san,
Well, from DSS perspective, it can support 4K 60fps resolution..
regards,
Brijesh
Hi Brijesh,
The DSI port alone cannot output 4K at 60fps, but the DSS (Display Subsystem) itself can output one 4K 60fps signal.
By splitting the DSI 2 port and the application side, it is possible to output 4K at 60fps without dropping frames.
That's my understanding.
Thank you very much.
Best Regards,
Ito
