Hi, colleagues,

my customer is in search of a hardware+software solution of an angle audio application: the system should hear only the sound from an hearing zone formed by a beam of 30 degree 60-70 cm from a micros (possibly 2-3 small micros). The sound outside this beam should be blocked. The best application is a switchboard.

Can we acheive such results with C5000 DSP, maybe there is a software solution for this already?

Hi Dimitri,

Such beam-forming applications are well suited for the C55x DSP. While we have an echo cancellation solution (http://www.ti.com/tool/telecomlib) for the C55x, we do not have a beam-forming solution from TI. However, customer could try getting in touch with 3Ps that provide C55x-based solutions.

Can my customer check at least echo cancellation algorithm on the demo kit TMDX5515EZDSP? We plan to provide this kit to them for project start.

Also would be fine if this demokit can handle also the beam forming application. What's your opinion regarding this?
