Customer need to use Ubuntu 24.04 LTS because of it's IT dpt SW requirements.

-On SDK 11.01 (PROCESSOR-SDK-RTOS-J7200) release note we document that we used:

-> Ubuntu 18.04 (EOL in 1Q2023) for validation:

-Are we planning to validate on 24.04 LTS?
-Do we have already some feedback if it is ok to use 24.04?

All of the SDKs for our devices have been validated using Ubuntu 22.04 and I do not see any issues arising using Ubuntu 22.04 with J7200 SDK. We currently do not have a timeline or roadmap for when 24.04 will be supported. However, it is planned for the future.

We currently do not support CCS 20.x Theia for any J7 device at this point. There is a plan to support CCS 20.x in the future, however, we do not currently have a timeline to do this. You should have no issues using any 11.x version of CCS with J7200 or other J7 devices.

We plan to continue to support all new SDK releases on Ubuntu 22.04 for the future.

Hi Neehar,

the CCS 11.x version crashes when importing SDK example projects ti-processor-sdk-rtos-j7200-evm-11_01_00_02 and the SDK appear to require Python 2.7 which when I install CCS also crashes.

Is there a downloadable, preconfigured CCS 11.x for J7200 RTOS I can import on Ubuntu 24.04. Are they known workarounds for CCS 11.x crashes in Ubuntu 24.04 ? Can you provide a direct link or the steps to getting started for CCS 11.x on Ubuntu 20.04.

If no CCS project is available, is there a tested standalone C Makefile RTOS example for J7200 I can build and flash outside CCS on Ubuntu 24.04?

We want to run an RTOS Demo on the J7200 eval kit. The nearest demo project to our use case would be the CAN–Ethernet Gateway Demo CAN-Ethernet Gateway demo: Overview.

Would you recommend starting from Ubuntu 24.04 use a CCS project or standalone C Makefile ?

Hi David,

All Jacinto products do not support importing projects into CCS and building and running the code in CCS. You must build in the SDK and load the example to the core in CCS. Please follow the following instructions:

You should test using Ubuntu 22.04 instead of Ubuntu 24.04.
