SK-AM62A-LP: Busybox errors at boot

Hello there,

I'm working on reducing boot time in my am62a7 based design, using the tisdk-tiny-image as a starting point. I added the following to my local.conf:

DISTRO_FEATURES:remove = "systemd"
DISTRO_FEATURES:append = "mdev"
DISTRO_FEATURES:append = "busybox"
INIT_MANAGER = "mdev-busybox"
 
I can boot and log in, but I see this error in dmesg:
mount: mounting devtmpfs on /dev failed: Device or resource busy
 
And this recurring process exit:

Are there more detailed instructions for porting a build to Busybox? It reduces boot time nicely, but it appears I may have an issue with a remote core if ttyS0 is throwing errors.

    This suggests that /dev might already be mounted or in use.

    Are you able to boot the tisdk-tiny-image without any changes on the local.conf file?

    Yes, the tisdk-tiny-image with no changes boots without these issues. With Busybox, it also boots.  The difference is that mount error in dmesg and "process '/usr/sbin/ttyrun ttyS0 /sbin/getty 115200 ttyS0' (pid 323) exited. Scheduling for restart" line just prints every second.

    Do you still need support here? 

    The continuous restart of the getty process suggests that either the device node is missing/inaccessible, or there's an issue with the getty binary itself. The mount error could be related if it's preventing access to resources needed by the getty process.

    Please also work with the yocto community on how to add busybox to core-image-minimal and proceed further with your development.
