The power domain transition of C6678

Hello,

I read some user guide and is confused by some description:

In Power Sleep controller user guide 2.3.1,it describes that:Always On Power domain is always in the ON state when the device is powered-on,and therefore it is not possible to transition this domain to the OFF state.Conversely, the other domains are in the OFF state when the device is powered-on.Transitions from ON to OFF are never allowed.

But in C6678 guide 7.3.1,a table show that most of the power domain "Logic can be powered down"or"RAMs can sleep".Is it a contradiction?Or power down is different from power off?

If they are different, how can we power down a power domain? Can we do it in PSC?

      Thank you very much.

  • The Power Sleep Controller guide needs to be updated.  Our previous generation of devices did not allow for multiple On/Off transistions.  Domains once turned on must be left on if they were intended to be used in the future (i.e. no turning them on/off/on/off/on ...)

    Best Regards,
    Chad
