hello ,I want to buy  a C6455 DSK、a ADS5421 EVM,and a 5-6K interface board  to connect the output of ADS5421 to the EMIF interface of C6455,now there are two questions:

a) I don't konw whether these three boards can connect  together successfully, if that's ok ,how to connect them?

b)I want to acquire ultrasonic signals using this system at a high sample rate up to 30Mhz,is that ok?

    Xiaoli,

    The ADS5421 is a 40 MSa/s A/D converter.  You indicate that you intend to sample data at 30MSa/s.  The 64-bit AEMIF on the C6455 can receive this sustained data rate.  What processing is required?

    I am not familiar with the ADS5421 EVM.  Presumably it has a connector exposing the parallel data interface.  Wiring this for reliable operation at 30MHz will be a challenge.

    You have not provided any information about the interface board.  What is this?  Why not design a board with the parts mounted on it so that you can avoid problems with high frequency interconnect over cables?

    The C6455 is an older part that only supports fixed-point processing.  Have you considered the newer C6655/57?  It supports fixed- and floating-point processing and comes in single and dual core versions.  The C6655/57 does not have a wide AEMIF.  Its 16-bit AEMIF will be challenged to stream data sampled at 30MSa/s.  It does have a UPP (Universal Parallel Port) that is more appropriate for A/D streaming data and it supports the required 30 or 40MSa/s rate.  Some glue logic may be needed to optimize the interface.

        thanks for your answer, I have scan the documents of ADS5421 EVM and 5-6k interface, I found that they are not compatiable with each other, so if it's not work well by the use of cables,it's necessary to design a interface borad for the connection of ADS5421 EVM and C6455 DSK

        then I have read the documents for C6657 and C6657 EVM, it's very good too,but there are so little reference material to study it. BTW, I have little knowledge about DSP ,I don't know whether I can manage it.
