Is there any available information on how to migrate from DSPlink to IPC 3.x?

I am trying to migrate code that uses DSPlink on a OMAPL1x processor to DRA7xx dsp which uses IPC 3.x.

Current DSPlink code had .tci configuration and I need to know if IPC 3.x has any support for .tci files at all?

In general, is there a reference or some kind of document that can provide some information on how to migrating from DSPlink to IPC 3.x?

I see that there is some information on migration between DSPlink and SYSlink.

While looking online in TI documentation, I found "Migrating DSP/BIOS 5 application to SYS/BIOS 6" application report.

It looks like IPC 3.x uses SYS/BIOS 6 right?

If yes, can I use these steps and convert the DSP/BIOS Tconf script to a RTSC configuration script and use it with IPC 3.x?

Did anyone try this before? I would assume there are some applications which might have migrated from DSP/BIOS to SYS/BIOS or IPC 3.x.

Hi Girish,

Yes, IPC 3.x uses SYS/BIOS 6, so the BIOS 5 to BIOS 6 migration guide should help there. You might also find this IPC3 guide useful:

It has a table with a comparison of features in SysLink and IPC3. There is also an IPC 3 migration guide for SysLink:

So using the transitivity of the migration guides you could see what needs to be changed to go from DSPLink to IPC3. The only high level communication available on the Linux side in IPC3 is MessageQ. There is no support for DSPLink RingIO or FrameQ type features.
