I would like to power AM3354/600Mhz with TPS650250 and using DDR3L (1.35V). The frequency will not change during run time so no adaptive voltage change is needed.
The application note which shows how to power AM335X has a chapter with an example for DDR3 (chapter5). The only difference from that example is DDR3 voltage which should be changed from 1.5V to 1.35V. This should be doable since TPS650250 datasheet states DCDC2 can be set to 0.6V-VINDCDC2.
But there is a not quite described line in that example: "the AM335x must be operated such that VDDSHVx does not cause each LDO current to exceed 200 mA on VLDO1 or VLDO2". What that such means? :)
I understand that currents can't exceed 200mA on those LDO's but what are the limitations on the controller side to achieve this? The only place where I see different currents depending from frequency is vddcore and vddmpu but those are connected to DCDC1. If I respect the "Table 3. AM335x Power Requirements for Supporting DDR3" from the application note I should be fine?
If this post should rather go to the TPS650250 forum let me know ...
