It is recommended to use WDR alg for digital WDR in IPNC RDK 3.8. Pls set isDataCompressed=0 in WDR parameter.

I tried to turn on the WDR_ON flag in Rules.make, but still got image like this,

For TI WDR alg, we need ISIF gain to 1.

Sensor black level: config in sensor driver.
ISIF_ CRGAIN= ISIF_ CGRGAIN= ISIF_ CGBGAIN= ISIF_ BRGAIN: By default TI demo, AE is disable when WDR is enabled. TI AE alg will use ISIF gain as digital gain. I would suggest you to disable AE and check these value first.

I use dcc tuning tool to see ISIF GAIN parameters, they're always the same. The black level is set to 0x3c in lowbyte, and 0x00 in hibyte.

In sony imx322's document, the min value of this value is 0x3c,  so i don't know if  this black level value is that you refer to.

Pls set the sensor black level to 0. This is requested by TI WDR alg. If you want to use TI WDR normal, you must set sensor black level to 0.

Hi chris,

I removed wdr link and connect camlink to isplink directly, but image is still the same color purple.

I captured a raw picture from sensor, and saw some brighter place is purple too, other place is a little green.

But when i turn on aewb only, the color of the raw image is the same.

Is the purple place in raw image cause isp link get the color wrong?

I set the initial blacklevel to 0, but it seems no effect than 0x3c.

Now I'm trying to tune the dcc register values, to see if it has some effect or not.

Since no matter I use glbce or wdr or not use any of them, the output image color is the same,

I think it's the isplink(rgb2yuv) step, which calc the color wrong.

Do you mean if the RAW image is not all purple like the yuv output from resizer?

Would you pls try to do one or two pixels shift on IPIPE.SRC_VPS/SRC_HPS and see if the YUV output are changing to normal with some shift?

and now I think it's OK, because without wdr the raw image is the same,it can be processed to normal color.

I can't change the SRC_HPS or VPS in DCC tool, because it will be set back to 0 by program automatically.

I'll try that by altering the iss code.

Are you checking the RAW in DCC? If yes, I think you set wrong start pixel color in setup of image priority

now the raw image looks like this:

In code we use imx122 define,and it's already set to GBRG.

Also set the pixel color depth to 12bits. it looks like MSBs are missing in your picture.

Have you tried to change below code at iss driver\packages\ti\psp\iss\drivers\capture\src\issdrv_ispApi.c?

This is the parameters in use from the beginning, we can see the video, but color is not fine as you know.

(sorry, I made a mistake again, I changed it to 1,from the beginning it's 0.)

I tried this

and color is back to normal, it's so incredible.
These codes doesn't make any sense to me, and without your help, it can't be solved.

Now my concern is about the image process speed and image quality with wdr or glbce,

I'll try some different initial parameters of wdr or glbce first. Maybe I still have some question to ask.

Here's some image by different settings.

Only aewb: Color is ok, noise is low, dark area is too dark.

aewb_glbce: Color is a little green, there's some noise in dark area, and in video the noise move with the camera. Dark area is much brighter than only aewb.

aewb_wdr: Color is ok. Too much noise in dark area.

awb_wdr: Without ae, image quality is worse.

We all use vnf , VNF_LINK_VNF_NF_STRENGTH_AUTO, VNF_LINK_AFFINE_NSF_TNF, VNF_LINK_NSF_LUMA_CHROMA as parameter.

Do you have any suggestion about the nf settings, can glbce's color be fine too?

Setting ipipe_reg->SRC_VPS to 2 we have a black line at bottom, do you have a better solution?

And when wdr is on the framerate is down to about 13 fps, can it be optimized?

Yan,

It is recommended to use HDVPSS NSF instead of VNF when you are using WDR or GLBCE.

You need to compare the image with same AE( sensor exposure time, sensor gain, isp gain). For Only aewb, we can see the content on monitor, but for aewb_glbce, the monitor is over exposure. So the image is not compared peer to peer.

GLBCE/WDR will bring noise. You need to find a balance on this. For WDR, I would suggest you to use the lowest level.
