Hello everyone,

i have some questions regarding the TMDXEVM6678L evalutaion module and its memory.
Since just 512 MB of memory would limit us in the development.

Which possibilites exist to extend the memory to more then 512 MB?

I was thinking of:
1. Is a version with more DDR Memory available since it is mentioned in the schematics?
2. Or is it possible to replace the memory with bigger chips on our own?
3. Or is it maybe possible to design a pcb with memory chips that is connected to the DSP over the 80 pin connector and accessed over the EMIF interface?
4. Or is such a extension board for the 80 pin connector already availabe?
5. How convenient is it to couple 2 TMDSEVM6678L with the HL5CABLE HyperLink cable?
6. Is it possible to purchase extension ADC cards for the TMDSEVM6678L?
6. If any of this exists is it also possible to purchase from germany?

Hello,

What revision of the board you are using ?

The Rev 3.0 EVM has 4 nos. of 2Gb DDR memories (1GB in total). I hope this size would be enough for your development.

Hello,

we are not using any revision yet, since we only considered getting two boards for development.
The more memory the better, also in terms of exploring limits in the way of stepping through a certain algorithm.
1GB in total is at least something, thanks for the advice.
Is there maybe another chance to extend this memory in on of the ways i described?
And what about linking two boards? Is this possible?

Hello,

Linking two boards would not be an optimal solution to obtain more memory. Rather you can use you replace the existing memory device with your own higher capacity memory, say 4Gb or 8Gb.
