I am unable to enable runtime instance in BIOS which is essential for creating tasks or semaphores dynamically

Which verson of TI-RTOS are you using? Can you provide an example of the error you're getting? Are you starting from an example?

I am2350.Dynamic TAsks_SWI_empty_EK_TM4C1294XL_TI_Blink.rarusing latest version of TI RTOS and CCS .. I adapted from the example projects given for TI RTOS (lab 8) optional.

I think the problem is that the heap you've configured is too small:

BIOS.heapSize = 256;

Try setting this to 4096 bytes and see if it corrects the problem.

Also, this code:

Memory.defaultHeapSize = 256;
Memory.defaultHeapInstance = null;

Disables the heap altogether. Please remove those lines.

I am using the latest version of RTOS and CCs, All SW is up to date.

Unable to create Runtime instance for semaphore. Heap also not getting set. I tried with cfg script and with GUI. It does not work. I have bundled the project with a previous mail thread for your perusal.

Unable to create run time instance for Optional la8 of TI RTOS Workshop. I tried GUI as well as text --manual addition of CFG . It does not work.

Change your definition of

Semaphore_Handle LEDSem;

to this

const Semaphore_Handle LEDSem;

Using const helps create semaphore. But did not eliminate issue of runtime instance creation.

In the 'empty.c' within the .rar file you posted earlier, I do not see any 'create' calls. I only see a Task_construct() call that is commented out:
Task_Params_init(&taskParams);
taskParams.arg0 = 500;
taskParams.stackSize = TASKSTACKSIZE;
taskParams.stack = &task0Stack;
// Task_construct(&task0Struct, (Task_FuncPtr)heartBeatFxn, &taskParams, NULL);

Try replacing the Task_construct() call with this:

Task_Handle myTask;
myTask = Task_create((Task_FuncPtr)heartBeatFxn, &taskParams, NULL);

Then see if Task_create() returns properly. I think this should work.
