Linux/J6EVM5777: Supplying power to the VBUS even in device mode on Dual role USB

Part Number: J6EVM5777

Tool/software: Linux

Hi,

I am currently using Android OS (6AM1.3) on the TI J6.

I got the USB 2.0 port configured to do a USB role switch (or reversal) thanks to previous help from this forum.

One problem I see is that when I switch from 'host' mode to 'device' mode power supplied on the VBUS stops.

I did find a similar patch for this on the TI wiki but it is almost two years old and for the older version of the kernel.

--> http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php?title=File:Gpio-drvvbus-kernel-3.14-patches.zip&oldid=202665

Would this patch still work if I applied it manually to the relevant parts of the code in the 6AM1.3 source tree?

(I see the patch is for applying power to both the USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports but want to selectively do it to just 2.0 port.)

BTW, this is in relations to implementing CarPlay.

Thanks,

Alan
