Hi All!

I found in the DS that the recommended PMIC solutions are the:

For the DRA71x devices:

TPS65919

LP8733

And for the DRA72x devices:

TPS659039

TPS65917

Does it mean that one of these devices can completely power up all the rails on the DRA devices?

Also in case we want to use the device in a standby mode, is there a backup LDO pin that we can use? This to avoid the DC/DC to switch for a very light load....

Do you have maybe an example of how does a fairly optimized power tree look like?

I think the user's guides will describe the recommended power solutions. You are right that both of the options can support the processor power.

For DRA72x, the user's guide links are below (also found on the product folders).

TPS659039-Q1 user's guide for DRA72x

TPS65917-Q1 user's guide for DRA72x

TPS65917-Q1 is more optimized with smaller size and space, and would generally be the recommended PMIC. However, if you want PCB-compatibility with a DRA74x or DRA75x solution, you would consider TPS659039-Q1 since it can support both DRA72x and DRA74x/75x.

For DRA71x, the user's guide links are below (also found on the product folders).

TPS65917/9-Q1 user's guide for DRA71x

LP873x user's guide for DRA71x

Note that the LP873x solution is an LP8733-Q1 + LP8732-Q1 2-chip solution. This solution will be lower cost, but also can only support up to 3A on the core rails. If you need up to 3.5A, then use TPS65919-Q1. And if you need higher than 3.5A, use the TPS65917-Q1 solution.
