Part Number: TMDSCSK8127
Tool/software: Linux
I have an application that does not allow an SD Card to be configured or installed on the Evaluation board. I require the ability to place u-boot into NAND flash. Through contact with TI support and the forum I have been told that the 8127 is very similar to the 8148 and the same utilities should be able to run on both. I went through the steps contained in DM814X AM38x PSP Flashing Tools Guide. I used the u-boot.min.nand image specified for the 8148 SDK distribution. The image was programed to Flash. I changed boot modes and saw no activity on the console.
1. Is this u-boot compatible with the 8127 evaluation board?
Not sure if the serial console and/or other peripherals on the 8127 evaluation board need to be configured differently. Have also had a recommendation from TI to use a UBOOT from the DM8127 camera kit.
2. Can the UBOOT from the 8127 camera kit be identified, and is this UBOOT compatible with the CCS flash writer utility?
There is a u-boot.img file that comes with the 8127 SDK. This image is significantly larger than the u-boot.min.nand image associated with the flash writer utility. It is not labeled as referenced as a first, second or other stage bootloader. I flashed the u-boot.img and did not get a boot prompt.
3. Is there any development tools, software, application available to leverage off of to program u-boot on the 8127 with out the use of an SD-Card?
Thanks,
Steve
