Hi all,

I provide the *.bin file to programmer factory for pre-programmer on NAND flash. Then forward NAND flash to SMT.

How to generate the *.bin :

1. CCS compile to generate *.out

2. AISgen convert *.out to *.bin ---> provide this *.bin to programmer factory

Why this *.bin could not bring up by above procedure? But use sfh_OMAP-L138.exe to program this *.bin to NAND flash via UART that is ok.

May I know what conditions need to apply to programmer to resolve this issue?

E.g. programmer need to shift one block to do flash etc...

Please note that NAND boot on this particular device uses ECC data. The ECC data is generated by the EMIF16 IP which is then written by the core to the spare area on the flash in a specific format recognized by the ROM bootloader.

If you pre-program the NAND then the tool needs to be able to generate the ECC information the same way as EMIF16 and write that data to the spare are of the flash page in the format recognized by the ROM bootloader.

The ECC layout is similar to the NAND ECC layout for DM365 that is shown here:

We provide host tools to generate ECC the same way as EMIF16, if you want to use it to generate ECCC offline:

Hope this helps you understand why the application boots when programmed using serial flashing tools but fails to boot when gang programming the NAND.
