TMDXSK437X: Starter Kit current sense resistors

Part Number: TMDXSK437X

We are basing our design on the AM437x Starter Kit. The Starter Kit has 5 current sense resistors which are in series with all of the processor supplies. In addition to allowing you to measure the current to the processor it isolates the processor power from the rest of the board. I thought that it would be good to leave them in so that the processor power would be isolated from the rest of the board and wouldn't share the same planes. My thought is that isolating the processor power would reduce the noise that the processor was exposed to. However the planes being split up into affects the impedance and signal integrity of the high speed lines passing on the adjacent layers. It is my understanding that high speed lines shouldn't have any breaks in the planes on the adjacent layers.

I would like to remove the 5 current sense resistors and combine the 10 planes.into 5. But before I did this I want to ask the community if this is ok.

We are just finishing up the layout and are concerned about how the breaks in the planes could affect the DDR, LCD, Ethernet, WIFI and Camera signals.

Your help would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks, Bob
