TI-PLC-PRIME-DC: Upper level firmware support on AM57x

Part Number: TI-PLC-PRIME-DC
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM3356

Can the upper level prime-dc v4.0.0.0  binary run on AM57x family with out an issue? Does it need to be recompiled for AM57x Family?

The below link describes that the upper levels of the PRIME software stack is made for AM3356.

  • eliab,

So, you'd like to pair an AM57x with a C2000 to do PLC?

I'm looking into this and will get back with more information soon.
  • Eliab,
For your main question, the answer is "no" the binary cannot be used as is from the AM335x to the AM57x. There are differences in the global memory maps of these devices; which has impacts on the start/end address of memories and peripherals.

Furthermore, there is no future roadmap at this time for both the PRIME and CENELAC variants of the PLC FW referenced above on either the Sitara host or C2000 MCU based modem. Also there is no longer evaluation tool availability on the TI Store /TI.com.

If you have additional questions/concerns I would be happy to discuss in more detail in a private message supported through our my.ti accounts.

    Best regards,
    Matthew
  • I have some more questions to ask. I already sent you friendship request so that we can discuss in a private message but until now i don't get any response. Please give me a guidance how we can make it soon. Thanks!
  • Eliab,
Sorry, I did not see the request. I have accepted now, please feel free to msg me off line.
