TMS320C6657: Using TPS53313 along with LM10011 for 1.0V Generation of DSP

I'm looking at various different Power Supply options for the C6657 implementation. I've been told that the Smart Reflex feature is not optional for the Keystone I device. With that said, I've taken a look at the TPS53313 as the DC/DC converter option with an overall small package size. It looks to meet the voltage requirements and features a 0.6V reference.

Is this device a viable option to supply the 0.7V-1.1V of the C6655 when paired with the LM10011?

Hi Brent,

Yes, the TPS53313 meets the voltage requirements. It is similar to the TPS54424, which is OK to be paired with LM10011. It should be possible to use it.

What's the criteria for choosing what does and does not work. I'd like to use something like the LTM4644 due to space constraints.

Hi Brent,

The general rules are:
- you MUST comply with the power up & power down sequencies
- the parts must meet your power consumption requirements (voltage levels & current consumption)

If the above two are met, then you should be fine using the parts to design your board.

Brent,

You already noted that the TPS53313 uses a 0.6V reference. This is a critical requirement. Also, the supply needs to have the standard FB pin with an internal comparator. Note that there are other devices in this family with lower current rating that may be applicable. You would need to complete the Power Consumption Spreadsheet to determine the exact requirements of your application.
