AM3894: Video/Graphic features

Part Number: AM3894

Hi,

This is Stanley from Quanta computer in Taiwan.

I'm searching for a graphic/video processor. For AM3894, I've read its specification. And I have some questions.

Does AM3894 support the following features?

1. Video resolution: 4K UHD

2. 1080P HD video playback with little impact to CPU utilization

3. 4K UHD video playback with little impact to CPU utilization

4. HW codecs for MPEG and H.264. H.265

5. HDMI 2.0 or higher

6. HDCP 2.2. or higher

    - It is said that "Options available to support HDCP encryption engine for transmitting protected audio and video (contact local TI sales representative for information)."

Could you please provide more information about this?

Thanks,

Stanley

  • Hi Stanley,

AM389x is active device, but it has limited SW support, check below e2e post, it apply to AM389x also.

For new design, I will recommend you Sitara AM57x family of devices:
