Hello, TI Experts,

Our customer sent us questions about "MCASP_Audio_evmAM572x_c66ExampleProject" with PROCESSOR-SDK-RTOS-AM57X.

They tried to run this example on TMDSEVM572X.

They want change mcasp configuration from master mode to slave mode to use external clock for I2S data transfer.

Question:

They thought that mcasp configuration to slave mode can be changed like below procedure.

- Delete "MCASP_MASTER" in pre-defined symbol on CCS & Re-build.

- Is this understanding correct?

- Is it enough?

If there are additional modification or notice, please tell us.

Hi Matusan,

Which version of the AM57x PSDK RTOS you are using? Latest is v5.02:

software-dl.ti.com/.../index_FDS.html

When you delete "MCASP_MASTER", you need to check if McASP registers values are setup properly for slave mode.
- Check if McASP pinmux clock registers (aclkx and fsx) are set as inputs
- Check if McASP module registers (MCASP_PDIR, MCASP_TXFMCTL, MCASP_ACLKXCTL) values are updated for McASP slave mode
