AUDK2G: Questions about daughter card

Hello,

We wondered if we should prefer the AUDK2G daughter card for the connection between the analog microphones and EVMK2G DSP rather than ADCs. Would you have any recommendations for us in this case?

The same questions we thought about ADC still apply here: Can we get simultaneously sampled data from 8 channels? What is the samplin rate, in terms of sample per second per channel?

Hi Sueda,
The AUDK2G daguther card includes 8 channels of basic audio input. You may need an interface circuit to connect microphones directly but the audio inputs are present. The sample rate is programmable based on the clock setting for the McASP. I don't have the details on the sample rates for the example code but I will try and find those.

Thank you so much for your answer. So the daughter board includes two ADCs, are the sampling of these simultaneous and are their outputs hence synchronized?

Hi Sueda,

According to the software team we have demonstration code that includes sampling of the 8 audio inputs at 48MHz. They also pointed to the TI design for the Circular Microphone Board which provides an eight microphone array which can connect to the K2G. Example software is provided for that board as well.
