Hi,

I came across the following link 'http://www.ti.com/lit/an/sprabi3b/sprabi3b.pdf' which describes the thermal calculations with heat sink.  

Is there any other link which can provide thermal calculations for junction temperature without heatsink using thetajc and thetajb?

    Archana,

    The document that you referenced provides a good background on the physics and the terms related to thermal system design.  The C6748 datasheet provides actual thermal values of the package under various use conditions.  You need to use the Power Consumption Summary and Spreadsheet accessible from the product page to estimate the maximum power dissipation in your use case.  This power consumption number and the package thermal characteristics can be used to estimate the maximum operating temperature of the device (actually the temperature rise above maximum ambient).  If more precise numbers are needed, then full 3D simulation is required.
