SM470R1B1M-HT: Which High Temp Micro Is Recommended for Downhole Application - SM470R1B1M-HT, SM320F2812-HT, SM320F28335-HT

Part Number: SM470R1B1M-HT

I'm looking for advice on which microprocessor would be better for a downhole application with temp requirement of 175C, lowest power usage possible, with CAN support. We have a fairly tight power budget and the information on power consumption for all 3 processors is difficult to compare. The other issue I've found is that the older SM470 part is only supported by IAR/Keil compilers which are quite expensive.

Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

  • Terry,
We do not have a comparison of supply current for these devices.
The SM470R1B1M, is a bit older, and the documentation is not as robust as the other devices. So, it may be a bit harder to use (if not familiar) than the other C2000 devices.

    Hopefully this helps a little.
    Regards,
    Wade
