AM5K2E02: SERDES simulation

I would like to simulate the SERDES links of the AM5K2E02 processor. I understand this requires an IBIS AMI model, I couldn’t find this model on the website.

Could you show me where I can find the IBIS AMI model for this processor?

It is located on AM5K2E02 product folder under the Tools & Software tab:
www.ti.com/.../toolssoftware

Scroll the above link down to the Models section, where you will see a link called: AM5K2E04 AM5K2E02 ABD IBIS Model.

Thanks Yordan,

But I would like to simulate the SerDes links of the processor. The IBIS model on the website has this note on SerDes simulations:

And there is no model associated with any of the SerDes pins.

Is there an IBIS AMI model available for this processor?

We are actually transitioning this for general release on the website where the other models are located. It is released as a bundle with a click-wrap license that must be accepted. I see that it is not present yet. It should appear there in the next few days.

The file is now available to download but it is a .exe file?

is this correct I was expecting a file type that i could run in HyperLynx or similar?

Jack,

The EXE file is an executable installer. The EXE bundle contains the license file that must be acknowledged and accepted before use. Once installed, you will have a ZIP file that must be unpacked in the desired location. The AMI models are DLLs that must be linked into your simulation. Users are expected to have the expertise to know what to do with the provided files. There is no support available beyond the content of these delivered files as stated in the EULA.

What are the plans for file rev versions 2.x and 3.x of the IBIS file?

Current is 1.2 so pre silicon,

Is there one for actual / mature?

Hi Tom,

The IBIS spec defines [File Rev] parameter as follows:

Keyword: [File Rev]
| Required: Yes
| Description: Tracks the revision level of a particular .ibs file.
| Usage Rules: Revision level is set at the discretion of the engineer
| defining the file. The following guidelines are recommended:
| 0.x silicon and file in development
| 1.x pre-silicon file data from silicon model only
| 2.x file correlated to actual silicon measurements
| 3.x mature product, no more changes likely
|---------------------------------------------------------------------

The current file rev of the IBIS model is 1.2.

Do you know if there are any plans to release a more mature model that has been correlated to actual silicon measurements?

Jack,

These are the models that we have available for use with our production devices. There are no revisions planned.
