TMS320C6678: Enquiry on MathLib 3.1.2.4

Part Number: TMS320C6678
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MATHLIB

Hi TI,

I have few questions regarding MathLib:

  1. What is the different between mathlib_c66x_3_1_2_4 and mathlib_c66x_3_1_2_1. I check the release note (in the installation package) there is the fix for atan2dp on mathlib_c66x_3_1_2_4 but I compare the source code of 2 version and they are the same.
  2. Why mathlib_c66x_3_1_2_4 is not listed on the release website of MathLib, (it is include in PROCESSOR-SDK-RTOS-C667x  06_01_00_08). In future, is there a separate release on MathLib release website or I need to get MathLib from Processor SDK package?

Could you please advise. Thanks a lot.

  • Chanh,

There have been two or three releases between 3.1.2.1 and 3.1.2.4 so you may need to look at release notes from all the releases to understand the full set of changes. The issue fixed for atan2dp is described here and the fix is in the atan2dp.asm file for the C674x version of the library not for C66x so it doesn`t apply to your install as far as I can tell

For all new design and development on TI ARM and DSP processors, we now recommend users to start with Processor SDK package for a single install package and the DSP Library releases and updates will now be available only through that package. The ti.com portal is currently being maintained for customers who already have designs in production and may be relying on the releases available on ti.com  Hope this clarifies the software distribution mechanism.

Let us know if you have any further questions.

    Rahul
