Hi Team, I am posting for a customer.

The customer wants to confirm if he had used the board correctly. As per the user guide, with the switches SW3 SW5 and SW8 in the boot mode. after that, when they was using the JTAG connection for the first time, they used the no boot mode combination of these switches and left it like that.

Now when they use the board, they are in the no boot mode. Also, the FPGA leds are always ON, so I am not sure is that okay.

Hi,

Please look at the EVM info here: https://www.einfochips.com/partnerships-and-alliances/device-partnerships/texas-instruments/tms320c6657-evm/. Table 2.2: Boot Configuration Selection shows the different boot switch settings. You can use no-boot mode or other modes to connect with JTAG. You may also check the register 0x02620020 (DEVSTAT) with JTAG to determine your boot mode setting.

There are many LEDs on the board and I am not sure which "FPGA LED" is, typically we don't pay attention to it, if it always lit or not as long as the board is functioning. You may look at the schematic to understand how the FPGA LED circuitry works.
