We are planning to select  SMOMAPL138B-HIREL or OMAPL138B-EP. Can you provide additional information on the reliability and screening differences between the SM and the EP device? What additional testing does SM perform over EP? Also do these go through burn-in prior to ATE?

    Hi, Joe,

    In gerneral, HIREL is the same as EP but without extended HAST or a V62 number. Their operating temperature ranges are also different. I am still asking further info internally. If I get response with more info, I'll post back here.

    Thanks for the update, Essentially the -EP version has additional testing performed over the Hi-Rel? Is there a table to show the differences in general?

    Hi, Joe,

    That's the info I am trying to get internally. It may not be a pretty table format, but hopefully a list of them. I don't know if we have it or if it is public info. I'll need to wait for the internal response.

    Joe,

    What is your requirements on temperature range as the two devices are working a different temperature range.

    SMOMAPL138B-HIREL                   -40 to 105°C

    OMAPL138B-EP                                -55 to 125°C

    In this case, -EP is the superset and -HIREL is only TI nomenclature. Devices that have the –HIREL suffix use a subset of the –EP specification.

    The temperature requirement will be met with either device, since -HIREL is only a TI nomenclature, can assume that the -EP device has more screen and qualification test performed on this part?

    Yes that is the case as indicated by Rex in earlier replies. The other factor is price. you can get a quote and compare.
