Hello,

I'm interested in learning more about this processor, but I couldn't find a technical reference guide like for other processors such as the AM5728.

I see there's a bunch of user guides on the website so are those replacing a technical reference guide?

Also, is there a schematic I could preview for the EVMK2E development board?

Hi, David,

Keystone-2 products did it differently from AM5x family device which has a thick TRM. KS-2 has datasheet and different User's Guide on peripherals. You can find them in K2E product folder:

Hey Rex,

Thanks for that info!

I was watching the getting started guide for AM5K2E04 and it seems the main difference between AM5K2E04 and 66AK2Ex is the DSP core/cores? Besides that, are there any other differences in terms of power management or number of pins?

Is it okay to base our AM5K2E04 schematic with the k2e-evm even though we'll be using the AM5K2E04?

Hi, David,

That is correct. The only difference is the DSP core which we diff with part number, AM for ARM device and 66A for C66x DSP and ARM multicore. No difference between the 2 SoC except the DSP core.

There are no board level connections that are different between these 2 parts. There is no extra clock input or power rails for the part containing the DSP. So, the K2E EVM is the correct sample design for K2E04 part. We actually have socketed EVM which we can drop either SoC to the board and run it.
